Monthly Guest SpeakersMembers meet the second Tuesday of every month from September to June. Each meeting features a guest speaker. Past topics have included Native Plant Gardening, Nature Journaling, Environmental Ethics and Lake Simcoe Conservation Efforts.

Volunteer OpportunitiesThe club offers a variety of ways to get involved. Citizen science projects, environmental rehabilitation efforts, conservation awareness or club operation roles are just some of the ways to get engaged in our community.

Nature OutingsOnce a month club members are lead on a local guided nature walk at one of the many trails found in our area. Special field trips also occur throughout the season that have members explore unique eco-systems like the Carden Alvar.

October 14th, 2025"Wild Turkeys: A Year in the Life" with Jenn Baici.
Jenn Baici is a post doctoral research fellow jointly with Trent University and U fo T, where she studies the social structure and behaviour of the eastern wild turkey. Prior to this she studied biocontrol of invasive species at the University of Toronto in the Master of Forest Conservation (MFC) program. Her research interests include avian ecology, nesting behaviour, insect ecology, and human-animal conflict mitigation. |
November 11th, 2025Adam Shoalts is a professional adventurer and Westaway Explorer-in-Residence at the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. His expeditions range from mapping rivers to archaeological projects, but Shoalts is best known for his long solo wilderness journeys, including crossing alone nearly 4,000 km of Canada’s Arctic. Named one of the “greatest living explorers” by CBC and declared “Canada’s Indiana Jones” by the Toronto Star.
